Opening bank account in France

To buy property in France you don’t need to have a French bank account.

However, once you become a property owner in France, it’s easier to have a French or Monaco-based bank account for property management purposes.

We can help you to organise automatic bank payments for the direct debits required (electricity, water, internet), for local taxes, or for payments to building management companies.

We assist our clients in opening a French  bank account.

Here is the standard list of documents needed to open a non-resident account in France :

  • Colour copy of your passport

  • Latest income tax return

  • Proof of residential address with your name in your home country (less than three months old)

  • Copy of the preliminary contract for the property you are buying in France

Please note: the French bank will need to meet you personally to finalise the opening of the account, but you can do the initial paperwork remotely.
